My Saturday Night

So my saturday was eventful i had fun..i went over to ashleigh's parent's house around 5:30, had a great stew for dinner..and laughed at her daughter Gabby...Ash's dad said "Gabby's where's your bum?" and Gabby started doing circles for like 5 minutes trying to find her bum....and when I first walked in the door she barked at me..lol

So Sarah came over and we went to see Man of the Year, which was good, we all liked it...it's just that the previews make it seem like the entire movie is a comedy..and it's not..there are serious parts to it..and the guy i like Brandon Firla, from Billable Hours..was in like every scene, but he had only one line..lol which sucked, cause I really think he's funny

when we were walking out we saw stace and mike, than we went to McDonalds where the entire Sarnia hoe train proceeded to come in....i forgot that it was the weekend before halloween and every skanky costume was prancing through McDonalds...after that we drove around a bit making fun of people..lol i know..mature mature..but there was nothing else to do...ashleigh proceeded to yell her infamous "f*ck her i did" which last time i asked her why doesnt she say "f*ck HIM, I did" lol but she keeps forgetting...than we passed the strip joint..lol which is literally right on the street corner...and people were about to come out but they saw us drive past really slow laughing at them, and they wouldn't come outside...than we all died laughing cause we could have sworn we saw a teacher go inside..he waved us in..but um yuck....lol than we went passed again, and ashleigh yells out the window "Dad?" lol so i died laughing..lol

than on the way home i got pulled over by the cops..my first time mind you..except for the RIDE program...so i pulled out..but the woman was nice, she asked me if i had anything to drink, while i'm thinking to myself, who actually answers that question with YUP?" so i got to go home..and that was it.....

i've got my bags packed and my pills ready for D.C...lol the weather looks like it's gonna be amazing so i'm very excited!!

My Newest Discoveries

As previously mentioned - The Fray is a great new band that everyone should check out...well they aren't entirely new - they have been around since 2002...however they are new to me!! But if u will take a moment to look in the side bar...more importantly the "Linds' Fav Music" section u will notice some new additions...The Fray being one of them.

The other two - Matt Costa - I discovered him today - Leanne mentioned him to me at the Spades concert with a "he's very Jack Johnsonesk" so I thought - I must give him a chance...and glad I did - he's got a good indie folk sound to him - however - that cd will be a hard one to find as well...add it to my list of cd's and keep an eye out for it! But if u get a chance...check out his myspace site - just click on his name on the side...it'll take u right to it!

The Rest Cure is my brother's project - so of course I'm bias in saying that it's excellent - however - I do feel that it's worth my seal of approval lol it's some of the best stuff to come out of our basement in a long time (cause we all know my song isn't gonna be a hit!! hahaha ... and while it's not even properly recorded yet...I guarantee that my singing voice isn't public forum quality - only a select few will ever hear it - consider urself lucky...or maybe not so lucky - if ur one of those few!!) In any case...Garrett's stuff is well worth the listen - cause not only is his talent showcased - but Katie sings on most of the tracks - and she has a beautiful singing voice - so I do recommend taking the time to give it a listen.

My Weekend

First...while the song is still playing in the background...I finally picked up the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack while on my mission to find "The Fray" cd...to which I had no luck...however the cd I did get is very good. The song on right now is "I hate you all" by "Get Set Go" and it's very much a downer song..basically about how the guy hates everyone - but very catchy...I can see myself singing it to myself a lot lol - but only because of it's catchyness...not cause I hate everyone - I love everyone - it's just who I am and I can't change that...LOL

So... my weekend - has been very good and productive and fun - minus the fact that I'm missing my boy - however he's having a great time and I'm so glad that he finally got to go on this trip!! He's called a couple times and his mom calls me whenever he calls home - so I've been kept fairly worry free - just wish it wasn't raining on him - that's gotta put a damper on it - just a little.

Friday nite Leanne, Janice and I went to the Spades/Matthew Barber concert - Sooo good!! My one ear is still ringing...I think I've done damage to it...friggin hell - I really didn't mean to - but I suppose it's what I get for standing so close to the speakers. I was in some pain yesterday - felt like an ear infection - but today it's much better. Anywho - the concert was amazing!! and it surprisingly wasn't too packed - u had room to move around and not get all hot and sweaty - even when dancing - it was nice!! lol and the guy who was there last time who was sporting the incredibly hot mullet and had the dancing eye brows was there again!! It made me laugh. But we had a good time - it's always good times at the moho.

Saturday I did my normal cleaning, laundry thing then we (Leanne, Janice, Steph and Ju) went to Phantom Farm!! The wait was soooo long - but worth it. For those of u who don't know what Phantom Farm is...it's a farm out in the middle of nowhere (Bewdley way) and they transform their barn house into a haunted house and they also have a haunted hay ride!! very fun. So we get there - takes us about 40 mins just to get into the parking lot...oi - get out tickets and go to the hayride first...well the wait was like an hour - and it was a tad chilly out - but what can u do - we get on the wagon - we're in the middle...so nothing is really gonna happen to us - last year we were in the front row...u get fondled so badly there lol well...apparently u do in the middle row too!! haha - the guy dressed as Micheal Myers climbed onto the wagon..I was on the outside of the row and he grabbed my leg and shook me - then kinda pushed me out of the way and used me as a leaning post to grab Janice and nearly dragged her right off the bench...insanity! lol and then another guy reached over the front row to grab us and he grabbed my leg and they attempted to take our shoes...I shook him off - no one takes my shoes when it's zero degrees outside!! lol so that was the hay ride - get in line for the haunted barn - it went quickly and cause I'm the "brave" one - they put me in front - so I had to expereince everything first...but before we even went in - I had the biggest laughing fit I've had in a long time...like it was genuine and I nearly passed out cause I couldn;t breathe anymore - but there was a guy - who tried to put on a scary voice - he worked there and was asking everyone questions before they went into the barn - I dunno why but it struck me as halarious...so I died laughing - even when he was trying to talk to me. So anyways - we get into the barn and the first thing they do is lock u in this room and then spin it...really fast - so we're bouncing off of each other and getting pinned to the wall...then some guy grabs me and pulls me out of the room...and that's when I get put in front...so I'm going along - people jumping out at me...coming down from the ceiling at me lol and I had Leanne behind me - she held onto me so tight that everytime I jumped or screamed it scared her so she threw me against the wall!! lol my left side hurts...hahaha but it was good times - always fun to be scared!! I love halloween!!!

Then today was an incredibly lazy day - I went out to rent a movie and run a couple errands - came home and watched the movie with Garrett ( we watched American Dreamz - the movie that mocks American Idol...and the American way of life in general...it was very funny.) Then I read for a while - I borrowed To Kill a Mockingbird from Dave and so I'll slowly get through that - but it's a good book!

Hmm I think that about catches u up with me. Hope the weekend treated everyone else good as well.

Toronto Weekend...or Day Rather

So Toronto day was fun! Minus the getting up at 6:30am...damn I haven't done that since those early classes at college...and even then I don't think I got up when I was supposed to. Anywho - it wasn't that bad - I had my travel buddy which was nice cause then u know who ur sleeping on and more importantly u know they don't mind that ur sleeping on them...strangers tend to be less welcoming to that kind of behaviour. lol
But we didn't get lost, as Nik mentioned we got hailed on - but considering that was the worst part of the day - I'd say we did pretty good.
Since we all know what happened whilst we were together - I'll tell the story of Tim Horton's after u guys left - so we're in line and this old man starts talking to Dave...and being the nice girlfriend I am...just leave him to fend for himself lol but from what I heard they had a fairly interesting conversation - the guy flew planes...I think...then we got coffee cause I was falling asleep and they had booths at this Timmy's...we're not that special here - but they were comfy and I got reading Dave's magazine while he read his book - then we caught the bus and slept all the way home. But I had a great time and it was awesome to see u guys!! And I'm glad u got to meet Dave too!! and Kim will get her chance at Christmas time!

Hmm what else has been going on...besides the outrage at work today lol...and the "Forms Guidelines" people grossly misjudging Canadians intelligence...well ok maybe just some...I probably have clients that would need the examples...but let me explain...so I'm flipping through this forms guideline book for the "Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act" (in other words...the act that helps people get support be it child or spousal from thier ex spouse who now lives in another jurisdiction) anyways I came to the part where u have to do financials...and the book says...you have to calculate your income yearly and you may not know what u make a year but know what u make every week or every two weeks or even monthly. and then THEN proceeded to give me the math formulas for figuring out how to go from a weekly income to an annual income...I'm like - are u kidding me?! I mean if I can do this math and I barely squeeked by grade 11 math...seriously u should be able to figure it out. But not only did they give u the formulas they give u scenarios and examples...it made me sad lol

on a happy note I've discovered a new band!! Nik I think u would like them - and I encourage everyone to give them a chance...they are called The Fray - I discovered them from the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack...that show just keeps on giving!! lol

I'm going to a Green Party Meeting with Kate tomorrow nite...it should be interesting - she's pumped about it - so I told her I'd go and check it out to see what they were all about. I'll post about it later!

I think that about catches u up with me...

PHI THY MCNASTY'S

well i dont really have a blog worthy rant..lol nothing to rant about yet..except my brakes failed on my last night at an incredibly busy intersection..lol and i had to go through a red light..with cars waiting to turn right (my right) so lots of people weren't impressed with having to avoid hitting me..as i held on for dear friggin life....so anythings..cars being fixed today..

um lets see..weekend was fun..drove to toronto for the first time..and by myself...didn't get killed or molested at the reststops either...lol except at the McDonalds bathroom..i was so distracted by having to text Jaclyn a message i didn't lock the door and some woman swung that baby wide open!!! so that kinda sucked for me..

got to toronto in record time and jac adam and i went to George's...had dinenr which was ok..than i drugged myself up and went to sleep ( so that i couldnt' wake up and get all barfy like last time) woke up..got dressed...lindsay and Dave showed up..dave was nice..and real...big surprise..lol had a nice day of lots of walking..a little bit of shopping..we got hailed on pretty bad for like 5 minutes.. i made an ass of myself cause some jerk stole the L outta Philty Mcnasty's..

we ate at the Pickel Barrel..and well that was pretty much the day...said good bye to linds and dave...and went back to Jac and adams where adam gave me shotty directions that got me lost throughout Toronto for 30 minutes..lol but i made it home...i really enjoyed the cruise control option...

and than sunday i found out that my mortal enemy from elementary and highschool has been seeing my cousin for years and they just had a baby together..i cause i should see my relatives more to catch up on news...but that bitch used to be friends with the new bitch that moved in next door...so that's crappy..

that's about it for me..nothing exciting happening

A Blog Worthy Rant!

First the rant...then the good stuff lol

So today...worst day EVER! I get to work...early mind u so I can help bossman get ready for the client coming in at 9am. What does he do...but yell at me for "not telling him about the forms that had to be filled out" meanwhile...I told him about them last week and brushed me off...but whatever. It was the "You're making me look bad in front of the client" comment that threw me for a loop. Then I asked him to sign the affidavit that was executed yesterday and 5 mins later he hands it back to me...as blank as when I gave it to him!! So I gave it back and was like - wanna actually sign it this time?? Then I served the lawyer on the other side...cause that's what u always do - but this file was from 2001 - so the other lawyer calls me and says - "you know we're not retained forever - ur gonna have to serve the client urself." I said - that's fine...thinking - u didn't have to be a snot about it. Tell Bill and he's like - well yeah - why would u serve the lawyer? I'm like - uhh whatever...I'm outta here - so I left for about 2 hours - I did work - I went to court and filed stuff and took my lunch. Then I came back to more unpleasantness. He comes out and says - u think u could clean up ur office...it looks horrible. I'm thinking - and ur one to talk - u let clients into ur office all the time with papers all over the place...however....so just to spite him I didn't clean it up today...maybe tomorrow...if he's nice. Then I get into more crap for other stuff and I'm like near tears - all I want to do at this point is go home and crawl into bed pretending this day never happened. Anyways...I had a shitty day...but at least I'm home now.

On to more pleasant things...my birthday was awesome!! :)
Spent my birthday at home - parents made me dinner and Dave came over - he got me the John Mayer cd...soooo good. Garrett made me a record contract lol - we're finally gonna record our song...it's only been in the making for like 4 or 5 years now! My mom and Dan got me a new computer monitor..it's massive tho - still unsure about it lol - it doesn't quite fit and feels very much 'in my face' and my dad gave me money. My friends got me Season 2 of Grey's Anatomy, The Last Kiss soundtrack and $20 for movies. I got lots of cards which is always super nice to get around ur birthday!! :) I also got a pie in the face by some waitress who really wanted to wail on someone lol
I met up with my friend from high school on Saturday for coffee - it was so nice to catch up with her and finally meet her boyfriend.

I have a cute story that I have to share...Dave came over last nite with a water bottle of roses for me!! lol awww - he got them from a lady that he was working for that day - she had prize winning roses and she said that they were gonna die in the cold so told him to take some home to his girlfriend and they are so pretty and smell so good - and it totally made my day!! :)
and I also got a cool story out of it too - apparently - if u feed ants oatmeal...they will eventually explode cause the oatmeal expands in them!! cool eh??? hahaha
