My Update

I have been so busy these past couple of weeks it's unreal! Since Father's Day I have gotten a part time job - which is good to slow down the bank account drain that's been happening and I went to Guelph to talk to my counsellor and look for apartments...there are some scary ones out there...ohh man. A "One bedroom" had half the bathroom in the kitchen and the kitchen was the living room and the bedroom had no door...and it was $660...umm ya right. But fingers crossed I find something soon - I have met a few people who live there who have told me where to live and where not to live...so here's hoping I find something soon...that would be a huge weight off my shoulders. I also registered for all my courses - so looking forward to it - I have two philosophy, one sociology and two sciences...nice and diverse...just the way I like it haha. But getting my sciences out of the way now means I don't have to take anymore for the rest of my degree..requirement fullfilled!

Other than that just working and planning Ju's party for Saturday - it's gonna be awesome! We have some great decorations and plan on having a great time...stories to come I am sure.

But that's the update on my end.

crazazy weather pt 3

Yup the next day AFTER the creepy clouds...we get hail...and a flooded balcony, as well as my patio door leaked like crazy and i had to put towels down to soak it up.

Rocco!!

So I brought Rocco home yesterday. He got a feel out for the place. Has some quirks...he won't play at all. Not with string, not with cat todays, nothing. He also will not walk around the room divider...at all lol I have yet to see him do it. He walks through the bottom shelf to get to the kitchen. even if he follows me from the computer to the kitchen, instead of following me, he breaks off and runs through the shelf into the kitchen. Doesn't climb on the furniture unless I coax him. Sleeps behind the chair or the couch lol. He can also suss out bad weather. When the storm rolled in, he hid out in my room behind my bed table. I went into the living room and noticed the swirling clouds outside...creeepy lol.
Poor thing also has major ass breath b/c of his bad teeth. So i'm calling the vet tomorrow to get him in to get his surgery set up, he hasn't been eating as much and the humane society vet said it must be painful for him.
Other than that....that's been my weekend. Just kinda getting a feel for the cat. He's very mellow, and cuddley, stinky but cute lol

Happy Father's Day!

To all the dad's out there - here's hoping ur kids aren't brats and treat u nicely today!!
I am being one of those non bratty kids to both my dad and my step dad today (that's right...double duty! lol) My dad and step mom are coming for brunch and I found a pot roast in my freezer...so we're having that...it's just a shame it has to be cooked in the oven...for like 2 hours...and my dad has to work tonite...so it's cooking now...while it's the hottest time of the day haha 30 degrees...hopefully it won't be too uncomfortable downstairs...anywho - the rest of the menu...sweet potatoes, green and yellow beans, a salad and for dessert angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream...yum!!! lol so fingers crossed I don't screw it up.

The rest of my weekend has been somewhat uneventful...hung out with Steph on Friday nite and we got ice cream from DQ...and this is the first time I've had it...since I think Nik was in town...but I can't be sure so don't quote me...anyways...it was soupy and sooo disappointing...but at least I don't crave it anymore cause it was so awful!! haha Then we came back here and watched Top Gun and made endless fun of it. It is still one of my top ten fav movies...but it screams 80's and has parts that just need to be laughed at.

Yesterday I just went to the gym and hung out at home...fun times haha. And that's about it!

Girl's Night Out

Well miranda, brooke and I went to Limbo Lounge last night for a night out. Crappy weather when we got there. Couldn't find parking if our live's depended on it. Had to park about four blocks away in the rain. We than tried getting into Lola's instead since it was closer but it was booked. So we trekked on over to Limbo...me in my very high heels lol.

Wanna know what $34 bucks gets you? Two martinis. an appetizer of the two tiniest crab cakes ever, and the smallest tiniest crumb of chocolate torte ever. Not including tip lol.

We came back over to my place for a few drinks before Brooke party fouled and called her parents for a ride home.

Woke up this morning, went to the gym...didn't do any of my strength training..lol just did the bike and eliptical. Went to purolater and picked up my Rocco Deluca tank top. The Large size one...that was like 5 inches wide...i can barely breath in it. so that was disappointing. spending 15 bucks plus shipping on something that doesn't fit a small child.

Parents picked me and and we went to my gramma and grampas trailer for fathers day. and spent the afternoon there. Came back to town where i got some groceries and a treat bought for me as well as dinner lol

than walked up to the library to drop off my movies and came back and relaxed on the balcony. and that was the excitement that was my day!!!

I am in love with Matthew Barber...

Yes it is true...he is talented, gorgeous and super nice. We went to a bar downtown tonite for one of the best shows I've ever been to...there were only 15 people there so it was very intimate - and Matthew Barber was most excellent. Afterwards we chatted with him and I got his new cd and got him to sign it for me! :) And I was all the time thinking "My god ur so cute." It totally made my nite!! haha Best $5 I've ever spent on a concert!! lol

Other than that I didn't get up to much today - I went to the gym....and here's the thing about the gym...first of all they hold the Fleming convocation there...which is fine...but when I come in with my hair up in a messy ponytail...wearing jeans and birks...carrying my gym bag...stop asking me if I am graduating and trying to get me to go to the ceremony!! I didn't go to my own...I don't wanna go to someone else's!! haha Secondly...being free with ur nakedness should be outlawed. I am not interested in seeing naked old lady. I get that you sometimes need to be naked in the gym...but this is NOT ur home. Please don't walk around naked and slowly get dressed...or put on lotion for the love of god...and really...if I drop something...I will pick it up...you do NOT need to bend over and get it for me. I also have an issue with helping you unzip ur shirt lol...if you can't do it urself...wear something that's easier to get off to the gym. And that's my gym rant. haha

It is late however...so I think after a quick check of the weather I am off to bed. I am supposed to be going camping this weekend...but I hear that thunderstorms are in the forecast and I frown upon that when I am outdoors. So I think a fair substitution is inviting my dad and step mom for dinner on Saturday nite...yes that's right...I will host a dinner party...it is father's day after all.

Pets

yup I want one. went to the grocery store after work and stopped in the pet store. saw the most adorable rabbits there. soooo tiny. one floppy eared it was cute. one the colour of brown sugar. I'd love one and am willing to put the time and effort into one., but i have no one to look after it when i'm gone on the weekends or traveling. But i'll still put some thought into it, and that's all lol. just sitting on the balcony listening to In a Coma

Nikki's Adventures in Employment

Yeah i'm copying linds, she's smarter and funnier than me..

Wake up at 7:30. Every other day i wake up at a different time.Tomorrow it will be 7:50, which means i'll be rushed for breakfast.

Shower, get changed, do my hair and make up...minimal at best.
eat breakfast, All Bran cereal with strawberries.
check the internet, with Crossing Jordon in the background.
Brush teeth, put belt on, grab my gym bag though i'm not going to the gym, lunch bag and go.
Get to the car, and realize i've forgotten my lunch bag on the microwave and go back upstairs.
Get to work at the same time every single day 8:49. I'm that good.
Get to work.
This usually consists of emails to Linds and Ashleigh to get my day going. My day will go to shit if either one is gone.
Work work work work.
Pee at 10:40-11:00.
Have a snack while working.
Lunch, every day from 12:30-1:30.
Banking time at 1:30. Where I realize that apparently a law has been passed to make red lights on Exmouth Street and Stop Signs are optional.
Do the banking, hit up starbucks because i have no willpower, and lots of money to spend.
Come back to work where the real fun begins.
Internet goes down, and server screws up and a report is lost. Can't get it back, no clue what happened. This happens whenever Paul leaves for a day or so. As well our accounting program is not working and we were one month away from having the year end complete which is already due by the way.
and now i sit here blogging b/c if i don't i'll hit something, which will hurt me..and not the thing i've abused. Things could be worse, but still sucks lol

and there's a run down of what my days are like.

I can tell you know what my evening fun contains. Grocery shopping strictly for meat. bc i can't be left alone in a grocery store roaming the aisles. I buy bad stuff.
Go home, do laundry and go for a nice walk while laundry is being done. Go upstairs eat dinner and hopefully bed time early tonight but i've been saying it for two months lol

Lindsay's Adventures in Unemployment

A day in the life....

Being as I have now been out of work for...four months lol...my sleeping patterns have changed slightly...I am usually up late at nite (for example last nite ...up until 3am...I really don't know how that happened) But I was up at 9am this morning...however I am ready for a nap now. But I will not nap just yet as I have to go to the gym today...convocations have been messing with my schedule...grrr. Anywho...I have a solid routine...

Wake up...turn on computer...go pee...come back to computer and check for Nikki's good morning email...write her back (this usually goes on for about an hour or so...depending on the day) then go downstairs to get breakfast...watch an episode of something on tv...come back upstairs and write to Nikki again...decide what I want to get accomplished that day....get dressed...go to the gym...come home...putter around house cleaning etc....check the mail....go out at nite. It doesn't sound all that exciting...and it's probably not....but I love it and am not looking forward to the day I have to go back to work. That's gonna mess up my pace of life. lol

The best things about NOT working...
1. No work.
2. No boss to deal with.
3. No clients to deal with.
4. Sleeping in.
5. I can stay out late on a weeknite.
6. No work.
7. I stay in my pjs until about noon.
8. I no longer NEED a coffee in the morning to function.
9. I can wear jeans everyday.
10. Everyday is Saturday.

The worst things about NOT working...
1. No paycheque.
2. The stigma of being "One of THOSE people."

So clearly the pros outweigh the cons lol - well kinda...the no money thing could become a worry in a few more months haha. However...I've been productive with my time off...

Things I have done while unemployed:

1. Gotten my Smart Serve Certification
2. Traveled to Halifax
3. Gone to 7 concerts so far...more to come later this summer
4. Gone to visit Nikki twice
5. Got accepted to University
6. Had one job interview
7. Gone through testing for another job
8. Decided to focus on my health
9. Never been happier.

Lol I dunno what caused me to write this weird post...however...I did...I hope it brought some joy to you...and perhaps convinced you to quit ur job and live the good life!! haha

Yeah I can't help the plethora of Linds pics I have lol my camera is just obsessed with your many looks. And yeah i agree...you're unemployed, you're supposed to be out there experiencing the world! lol cheaply but still....though i won't mock, while i was unemployed after the law office all i did was sit at home and "mail" resumes b/c i didn't want to work in another law office lol. So Linds you excited to go camping and unleash yourself on the wilderness in peterborough?

It's true...you have all the worst pics of me ever and aren't afraid to post them everywhere!
So I have been up all nite watching episodes of the Office...one of the best shows ever!! haha But other than that didn't get up to much today haha...Nik ur right...we have gotten boring. But Dan bought the contents of a storage unit that went into arrears at my mom's work and so my mom and i went through boxes of dishes and other crap...nothing to exciting - there was crystal that was soooo dirty lol so that was gross - but it cleaned up nice. But ya...that's about the extent of my excitement today lol...ohh how sad. You would think being unemployed and having all the free time in the world would bring me more stories...but it hasn't been the case so far haha...I'll try harder tomorrow.

yeah there's something missing from these blogs since Linds and I first started...could it be...um....the fun?! lol god our lives are kinda...not as funny to write about when our teachers aren't calling us fat or frauds or in need of anger management, or your roommate walks around naked and you have a smelly man in your basement. We need a girls week to catch up on the funny or find something to post about. I can only write about work and the gym so much lol. though brooke and i are going for martini's on friday!

Ugh

Last night had a fantastic dinner at Coffee Culture with brooke. had margherita chicken. came home..had some popcorn watched Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, went to bed. Woke up at 1:30 and well..didn't stop harfing for several hours...than had to call into work and ask if i could come in to work a few hours later. Obviously I didn't get the point across it was because I was sick to my stomach all night. Paul thought i was up late and just coming in to work late.....and he didn't mind! lol though i set the record straight at the end of the very long day i still managed to put in. This business development never ends.
and now..i'm doing nothing, the story of my life...ate my awesome pork chops...out did myself this time, and that's it. and tomorrow it's off to the gym for some double time to make up for today...
and Linds..thanks for the phone message explaining what happens at the end of 13 going on 30.
P.s..the 10th, was the day i decided to actually stop eating crap lol

The Stills!!

Yes - I think that it's a good thing if we stop trying to think of each others worst moments! haha altho they are fun to relive!

I went to the Montreal House tonite to see the Stills - they put on a very good show...for the 30 people that showed up for it..I felt bad for them - but it was great for us - we could then just have all the room we wanted to dance and we weren't dripping in sweat by the end of the nite - twas very good indeed!! The Golden Dogs played there on Saturday nite and it was sooo hot - good show - but hard to enjoy when ur dying from the heat!! lol and on Thursday to round out my live music week - we are going to see Matthew Barber play at the Red Dog...so looking forward to that! It'll be great!

Tomorrow I am getting my hair cut...going with Ju for coffee first to look through magazines to come up with the perfect do...then gonna go get it done. It's juts getting too long and in this heat it's just heavy and droopy...not good - so it's time for a change - and being that I haven't cut it since October...it's about time lol.

That is all...I think I am off to bed now.

I think it's for the best. I believe there are far too many embarassing things we can dredge up on this blog lol. I think we should both just admit that we had our moments, and thankfully through them all..we still managed to be friends! lol even after the whole trying to fool someone into believing someone else was a lesbian (names will not be named)!

Hhmmmm..so today..i worked...and worked..and worked..than some of that work was tossed in my face when I got all my emails to a certain bank returned to me...so i fixed my problem..and they were returned again. so i quit lol well i quit that particular project. After work..went out to dinner with Brooke to Coffee Culture..had margherita chicken..tres delish...went for a walk...and pretty much that was it. other than i think i drilled it into brooke that she wasn't moving to calgary with my harry potter book.

now i'm home...eating popcorn, trying to find something of substance on tv..so far no luck......

My response to my "truths"

So I've looked at all of Nikki's "truths" about me...and would like to clear a few things up...lol

My numbers correspond with her numbers!

1. Calling her fat...never actually happened. It was just insinuated a few times with "I'm the looks of this operation" and "Mimi Bobeck." But honestly...I think Nikki is beautiful!! And all my comments are made with love.

2. I have already addressed my "attacking animals" but again...the paper airplane hit the cage...not the bunny.

3. Ok the lasagna splattering incident was completely by accident...but one of the funniest things I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. I was so close to peeing myself cause I was laughing so hard...and Nik's face was priceless. But the flipside to this story...I was the one who had to run on stage and steal the porn we got for Kim and put it back in the car so her grandmother didn't have to see what we got her for her wedding. We completely misread what kind of bridal shower it was gonna be. lol

4. The ADD thing...you would understand if you heard the commercial.

5. The furniture malfunction...I had already built 2 chairs by that time...and had much more building in my future...I think having only chair slightly tilted is pretty good. Consider urself lucky it wasn't ur room divider and it fell over two days later!

6. Yes...she wanted to yell at Mike at the restaurant...I'm all - please don't - there are people trying to enjoy their dinner...and there was a porta potty in the way...

7. Lol who wouldn't get offended when u bark at them???

8. I blame this on my brother...he always tickled my feet as a kid and the only way to get him to stop was to kick him. Altho I know Nikki never actually touched me...something did....so I kicked...I still think it was the entity.

9. Yes...I do sleep like the dead. Most people like that - I make a good sleeping partner. lol But I will agree it's kinda freaky...so for that I am sorry.

10. There was no ten....

11. I was really drunk when the jellybean thing happened...so that's my excuse for that. and PS...you were the one who danced to porn music....lol

12. The backwards shirt - that's just too funny that neither of us noticed...but that u bought it anyways!!! hahaha

7. She'll convince you that you should dye ur hair blonde and then tourture you with a bleaching kit that turns ur hair orange.

8. She'll invite you over to her new place to hang out and put u through hours of hard labour building furniture!

9. She'll touch the steering wheel when ur driving forcing you to yell "fuck off" just to get ur point across.

10. She doesn't delete the country music that she downloads for Ian cause she secretly likes it.

11. She just stands there and laughs when ur prof tries to use u in an example and ends up calling you a "fat...errr...fraud...." ya.

12. She suggested that our prof be put into anger managment in a meeting with the head of the department...oh no wait that was Jac. hahahaha

13. She encouraged skipping class and getting drunk on a Tuesday. (But it's ok cause later that nite she dyed her hair orange haha)

14. She forgot her outfit that she was gonna wear to Kim and Ian's wedding and had to go to Brampton to get a new outfit and was almost late for the wedding.

15. She also got a sunburn on half her body on the drive up that day.

There's not enough space for the plethora of nicknames given to miss Linds101...But there is plenty of space for more truths.

11. She is a human vacuum. If you lose a jellybean down your shirt. She will get it. no questions asked. no thanks needed.

12. The shirt you dropped your jelly bean down, will have been put on backwards for some time. Because Linds came into the change room and let you try it on backwards and thought it looked ok except for those "stringy things on the back"

13. She let you doodle in her Business Law book, coming up the the Porn Store Galore business that we should actually register.

14. She'll touch her crotch...all day every day if you let her.. she's like a four year old boy discovering his tallywag

15. She'll check out guys who have been checking you out online. she won't sign out of her profile. so they know some random girl from peterborough is checking them out. than i meet them. and mention going to school and having a close friend in peterborough. than i get the "look". i won't see them again

16. She'll tell you that she's having a guy over, but than get offended when you come over with Kim to meet this guy.

17. She'll make you watch "Date This House"

18. Um she never fully understands that I didn't take the ramp at 80 miles an hour...I was doing the appropriate speed limit, the ramp just ended far too quickly lol

19. She doesn't like it if you pronounce it "baxes" and not "boxes"

20. She'll mock you if you get motion sick. CAse in point. Frankenmuth with Kim and Linds. I said I couldn't take the boat ride b/c i'll get motion sick. She'll turn around and loudly proclaim "When DON'T" you get motion sick?

The Truth About Nikki...

OK. So I read Nik's post about the truth about me....and laughed my ass off...cause yes...I will continue to laugh at her for breaking the chair, and yes I will mock you in ur own accent if you say "does ur kid have add?" and yes ok...I did throw a paper airplane at her bunny...one time...and it was at her cage...it didn't even hit her. But here's the truth about Nikki....

1. She takes off ramps at the speed of 80mph when the ramp clearly states that you should take it at 30mph.

2. She laughed hard when I mocked the guy in the commercial talking about ADD.

3. She got her finger caught in the CD ROM drive at school.

4. She lost her coat once and then dragged me all over the college looking for it and figured out it was in the classroom the entire time. (oh wait...that was me...damnit!)

5. She called me the "Bitch in the passenger seat" then tried to cover it up by saying that she was talking about someone else...clearly she wasn't.

6. She nicknamed me "Bulldog" because I spoke loud and clear during a presentation. She even said that she could see Bobert's hair blowing in the wind.

The Truth about Linds

It's been since January 2007 since we've posted. It's not like our lives are so frigging exciting that we can't type it out. Linds and I are chaulk full of great stories. But as it turns out, they're only funny to us. which is all that matters IMHO..yeah i used an acronym..i mock people for using them but oh well. Anyways, Linds can't figure out how to get on here since they changed everything to Google. So I figured this was my chance to write some truths about Linds...

1. She has called me fat and ugly many a times, and we're still friends. One need only recall the "i'm the looks of this operation" statement the day we were getting signatures for Save Darfur and I asked her if she wasnted to speak to the people at the next house. As well, Jaclyn and Linds were discussing how Star Jones didn't look pretty since she lost all that weight, Linds commented that she wasn't Ugly Fat, than ever so slowly looked at me. lol Not to mention the day my ass broke through a chair, she just laughed in my face.....for years to come...

2. She assaults animals..not in a bad way, but i guess there's no good way. She threw things at my rabbit.

3. She throws things at people too...case in point...a spatula covered in lasagne was thrust upon my new white cords at Kim's wedding shower.

4. There is no one..i repeat NO ONE who is out of bounds for lindsay's taunt..she will mock your accent if you declare "ARE YOUR KIDS ADD OR ADHD?!"

5. She'll help you put furniture together, but than put it together backwards so when you sit on your kitchen chair you just slide off.

6. She won't let you yell at people that you recognize at a restaurant.

7. If you bark at her, she'll get offended.

8. Um..if you don't touch her she'll try and kick you in the face. Than deny it and blame it on you.

9. She sleeps like dead people sleep. with little or no breathing...and if a boat honks it will scare her awake..she's pretty touchy in her sleep lol
